Le pont, a hole-in-the-wall Kyomachiya French restaurant, has an amazing attention to vegetables!
Near Koujin-guchi, on the east side of Kyoto Gyoen.
It is a little out of the city center, and stores are sparse, but it is quite a gastronomic area.
There are many famous restaurants, including the previously introduced “Oryori Hayashi” (Cuisine Hayashi).
Casual French restaurant Le Pont, an eight-minute walk from Jingu Marutamachi Station, is one such restaurant.
Renovating a 120-year-old machiya (townhouse), the restaurant offers Kyoto French cuisine at a reasonable price.
The restaurant’s specialties are vegetables!
They take great care to ensure the quality and safety of their vegetables, including Japan’s only pesticide-free, organically grown garlic, vegetables grown on a verified farm in Kyoto, and vegetables shipped directly from Furano.
They also pursue natural ingredients such as meat from pigs naturally grazed in Hokkaido.
So, it is perfect for those who have small children.
Moreover, the food is delicious!
The chef is an authentic French chef who trained for 20 years in Toronto, Canada.
When you hear that, you tend to imagine a chef with a sharp and sharp mind, but that’s not the case at all.
He is a very gentle chef.
I came to the restaurant one Sunday night.
The place was quiet.
And it was quiet inside the restaurant, too.
There were no customers. I wonder if they are OK.
Hors d’oeuvre platter including maitake mushrooms, terrine, and salad from Aibetsu Town, Hokkaido.
All of them tasted solid and well done.
This is… Why are there so few customers?
The vegetables are just delicious.
It’s like my stomach is being revitalized.
And the sauteed mackerel is delicious! I don’t know how to eat mackerel without it tasting bad anymore.
Pizza is also available.
It is a thin dough type. Crispy dough goes well with juicy tomatoes and tender cheese.
Roasted Hokkaido pastured pork.
The taste is unmistakable.
The homemade bread is a perfect match, and you can’t help but eat more and more.
I mentioned that the vegetables are good, but the meat is also good!
I also tried the beef steak.
The sauce seemed to lock in the flavor of the meat, and the sauce matched the flavor of the ingredients.
Thank you very much for the meal!
Nothing fancy, but all the dishes are delicious.
It’s a serious taste without any eccentricity.
If I eat every meal at this restaurant for about a month, I feel like my health will improve.
I have the feeling that my child will grow 3 to 4 cm taller in a month, and that my body will become flesh and blood.
This is a hole in the wall. I was worried that there were no customers because it was too hole-in-the-wall.
